Being childhood pals, Paola Franchi and Maurizio Gucci have been friends throughout their lives. He even invited her to his wedding in 1972 to Patrizia Reggiani. After her breakup with Giorgio and Maurizio’s breakup with Patrizia, The two began to become romantically linked in the year 1990.
They lived together in an elegant residence within Milan’s Corso Venezia. They began to plan to marry “I do” at his Saint Moritz residence in Switzerland following Maurizio’s divorce from Patrizia was finalized in 1994. But the wedding plans fell apart when Maurizio was murdered outside his office on the 27th of March in 1995 through a hitman who was a pro employed by his former wife Patricia.
The following day Paola was served with a letter of expulsion from the home in which she lived along with Maurizio of Patrizia. Later, Patrizia moved in to stay together with her two daughters up to her conviction in 1997 for murder, and her subsequent sentence of 29 years in prison.
In 2010 Paola published her autobiography called “L’amore Spezzato”, also called “The Broken Love” in English subtitle “The Broken Love”, in which she divulges every detail about her love affair with Maurizio.
As an interior designer and artist, Paola Franchi established an image for herself. She began working for the interior design firm run by her mother following her graduation, and that’s after which she discovered her love to create sculptures from various materials. She also began combining photography with other art forms to create unique works of art.
In 2009, she had her first exhibition in Milan which was titled “Fantasy Portraits.” Numerous other shows, including “Sirens,” “Scent Of Africa,” and “Tribal Possession,” to just name some following it, were also held. She has also participated in several group art shows. The year 2001 saw Franchi’s 16-year-old son Charly Colombo commit suicide and passed away in the midst of the night.
