Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s Life
Neha Unnikrishnan’s husband was from Kozhikode, Kerala. The family of three relocated to Bangalore at the time that Sandeep was a young man. Additionally, his father K. Unnikrishnan was a former ISRO officer, while his mother, Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan, was a housewife.

Neha Unnikrishnan’s husband was Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan was a major in the Indian military Army who was killed in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in the year 2008.
They were happy together until the day that her husband was ordered to lead fifty soldiers to free some hostages. He informed his wife that they would do just well and that he will be back in a few days.
Sandeep is an Indian military personnel killed in the line of duty. This tragic incident took place in the year 2008 when 10 people from Pakistan tried to infiltrate India.
In November 2008 the Islamic group from Pakistan was able to attack India. They brought a building down and killed many people, brought bad luck back to India.
Sandeep was assigned to lead fifty men chosen as part of his Special Action group to save the hostages and also to save Commando Yadav. They could save the hostages and set to save commando Yadav. Sandeep took a risk to save Yadav.
He fought with the aggressors and was shot with bleeding and wounds; his body was discovered dead in a bloody pool within the day. He was a hero, and the majority of people, including his wife are proud of his sacrifice despite the fact that the man is now dead.
Neha was devastated by the demise of Sandeep but she was happy as he saved a lot of lives during the attack.
How Did Neha’s Husband Die?
It was the month of November 2008 the area of Mumbai was the focus of an organized terrorist attack, led by Lashkar-e-Taiba as well TheTaj Hotel was also one of the victims. Many people were trapped on the premises and, consequently, it was essential for soldiers to save the victims.
To deal with the situation, commandos from the National Security Guards were assigned. Additionally, the operation was supervised by Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was also responsible for implementing the necessary plans to enter the hotel.
Neha Unnikrishnan’s husband Sandeep led his team with extreme courage and grit. However, not just that, he took care to guard them too. He ran before the commandos and was shot numerous times. In spite of this, Sandeep did not lose his cool and saved nearly 14 hostages.
When he reached the upper portion of the hotel Sandeep took the situation into his own hands. He instructed his crew to remain in place and prevented the group from advancing. At this point, he was severely injured and covered in blood. Thus, he ended up giving his own life to the country.
After Sandeep’s demise after his death, after his death, the Mother Dairy Double Road in Bangalore was named in honor of him. India’s highest award for peacetime gallantry the Ashok Chakra was presented by the Government of India to Sandeep Unnikrishnan by the Government of India.
On the 26th of January, 2009 President Pratibha Patil awarded him the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest civilian medal of gallantry to honor his sacrifice. His mother, Dhanalakshmi Unnikrishnan, accepted the award.
Major- Biopic On Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan
In February 2019, Telugu film actor Mahesh Babu announced the release of a biopic called “Major,” which follows the inspirational life through the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, right from his early years to his final days. The film was made through Sony Pictures India and A+S Movies in co-production together with Mahesh Studio G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment.
The 2 July 2021 date was selected as the date for the theatrical release that the film would release. Filming was done in two different languages, Malayalam and Hindi. Produced by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film features Adivi Sesh in the title role as the title character, and Prakash Raj and Revathi appear as the parents of Unnikrishnan.
